Mom told me I could be the center of attention again – yay! Happy birthday OWH!

Ciara, our OWH mascot, wanted to get in on the action – so she’s posed for some brand new free digis and is offering up some prizes for those who use them!
Below is a single page with the set of digis; be sure to click on the image first and then right-click the second image, so you get the best resolution when you print it out. Or click here to download a zip file with each as individual files that you can resize as you wish!
KIDS! There are also coloring pages just for Christmas – click here to download a pdf! Remember, the deadline for Christmas AnyHero letters is November 30th!

The challenge
Ciara LOVES kids. Just loves them. Loves to kiss them and play ball with them! And she wants to see kids making cards, writing letters, and drawing pictures! Post a picture of yours and your child’s creations using the digis or coloring pages – or better yet, show us your child with their card so Ciara can see their adorable faces!

Prizes
You’ll have til the end of September to upload your link to qualify for the drawing; prize winners will be announced in early October. Mom/kid submissions will be eligible for the first photo shown here, and TWO kids will win a kids pack of markers and foamies!

Will be awarded to a combo mom/kid art submission!
TWO prizes for kids to win – markers and patriotic foamies!
FOUR copies of this book have been donated by the author – so we’ll pick FOUR more winners!

If you can’t wait to see if you won this lovely book by our cardmaker Sherry, you can order it on Amazon right now! Stay tuned on Saturday – Sherry’s going to have a wonderful new digi to share, and we’ll hook you up when it goes live!! Here’s a sneak peek…hint: it involves cake!

To play along in this challenge, simply upload a project using this week’s sketch to your blog or online gallery then leave a direct link to your project using the Inlinkz widget at the bottom of this post. We encourage everyone to take a few moments to visit and leave comments for the other participants. To get you inspired and mix things up a bit, this week we have another theme challenge for you!  The challenge is to create a card using any four legged friend.  That’s right, it may be a dog, cat, pony, bunny or if you tend to be more on the wild side… a lion, tiger, giraffe… well, you get the idea.  This week’s theme challenge is hosted by Tammy.  While we were all having fun and very busy blog hopping this weekend she was busy as a beaver creating this adorable sample card to get us all inspired!  Thank you, Tammy, for the fun theme challenge and cute sample card!  To see more of Tammy’s beautiful artwork, please visit her blog, My Craft Central, and show her your appreciation for this week’s theme challenge.

Midweek Challenge: Masculine Card

24 Wednesday Feb 2010

This week we have a theme challenge preparing us for Father’s Day cards: create a masculine card using this digi freebie from Hambo Stamps! A message from our friends at Hambo:

With Father’s Day approaching Hambo Stamps wanted to donate an image to OWH for all of the fathers, sons, and daughters serving our country. OWH does such wonderful  work and we at Hambo wanted to help in whatever  way we could. Hopefully  this Wee Henry Fishing image will inspire many of the awesome volunteers and hopefully some new ones who spend their time making the cards for OWH. Thanks  everyone for all you do!!
Tim and Monica Hunter-Hambo Stamps

Be sure to pay them a visit at their main page and/or their Digital Image page…they have some AWEsome stamp designs!! Thank you, Tim and Monica….we appreciate your support!

So for this week’s throwdown, your card can be for any occasion (it’s a great one for Father’s Day, of course, anf might help with your Half and Half Challenge cards!) and could be for adult men or for boys—but it should be a card for our heroes to send to a dude!

Click here and “Wee Henry” should download to your hard drive right away, ready to place in Word for re-sizing (if you right-click on the image above, your image may be fuzzy since it will be downloading a jpg rather than the high-resolution tif file, so try clicking on it once and check your hard drive).  Please do not re-post or email out this digi, at the request of Hambo; you’re welcome to link to this post to tell your OWH friends about the availability of the image, though! If you don’t know how to use digital images, check out the digi tutorial we did on the Homefront Blog a while ago.
ETA: Some of you have been having trouble with the download 😦 Try downloading this – it’s a Word doc with the image placed in it; you should be able to resize it however you wish.
To get you started, a few of our crafters created sample cards using this great image…thanks, ladies!

Post a link to your card below….let’s go fishing!
